Chill up the champagne.

It's Monday for SCOTUS ruling in SAF's McDonald v. Chicago case

This isliable to be a long weekend for anti-gunners, whomay spend their time trying to figure out how to spin an adverseruling, and a pretty busy Monday for the people at SAF's Bellevue offices if the case goes as court observers predict.

I'm really hoping this decision goes well for us. If it does, it could do so much to advance this important liberty in cities and states all over the country.

Here's to the Second Amendment! :)

I'm also holding my breath for the McDonald decision, but I'm just not convinced that there will be much use for champane, chilled or otherwise.

There is no reason not to expect "reasonable restrictions", just as there is no reason to expect "privileges and immunities" in the decision. I'm not sure if strict scrutiny will even be discussed, let alone the standard set. And as icing on the cake, there is the possibility that SCOTUS will find a way to issue an unpublished opinion - meaning it will not be presedent and thus not "the law of the land".

Anybody that believes that McDonald is the end of the line, rather than the starting point for a long series of battles, has been drinking unicorn farts. "Fasten your safety belts, boys, it's going to be a bumpy ride" was never more on target.

stay safe.
