A friend and I were at a Panera haveing coffee the other morning. When I was nearly finished am employe came over to the table and asked about the gun. Her manager wanted to know.

1. Was I a police officer to which my reply was no.

2. Why was I carring a gun. "Implied but not stated In their store"

To which I replied. Most of the communities ( Flint) around here have laid off 50% of the police departments. I want to legally protect myself. Flint has had a huge increase in murders and other crimes this years. And you can never know when you may have to protect yourself. Her answer was Oh! OK and she left. I have been carrying in there for 6 months but my open carry gun is small and hard to see. By the way this counter girl is very pleasent and nice. You notices her manager sent HER to talk to me and did not come her self.
Now maybe when I go in next time there maybe no gun signs I don't know I keep you posted.

Hopefully no "no guns" signage. On the optimistic side, who knows, maybe her manager will personally greet you when you go again, now having some type of understanding of where you're coming from and your intentions (or lack of, more appropriately).

panera bread in grand blanc? I have oc'd a few times in that store. no issues.

Yes that is the one. The wait staff in there are very nice. Where I was sitting my gun was extra exposed. I'm sure some anti said something to the manager and she had to check.

I should have said something like did you check all of the computers users here ( they have free WI FI ). They may be using them to view Child porn or planning a terrorist plot never can tell. :D

i would also point out that a robber wouldn't wait in line, order food, pay with identifiable debit card, sit down and eat all on security camera then rob the place.

I don't think it's unreasonable for a business owner/manager to ask. Inquiring minds want to know! They didn't kick you out, so I don't see it being an issue.
