    July 4th Birmingham OC Event

    Hey all,

I know this is a handgun only site, but I planned an event that would be RIFLE and SWORD OC friendly as well, for July 4th. I'll have my AK on.

    OC Event (Rifle/Sword Friendly)
    July 4th
    7:30PM
Five Points South Starbucks Stage Up

    1. ALL RIFLES MUST BE SLUNG.

    2. I don't care if they are loaded or not, we're all big boys (and girls). We all know how to handle a firearm.

Going over to The Mill and eat beforehand, then just wandering around watching the fireworks show, "Thunder on the Mountain."

Fireworks at 9:00PM, should be over by 9:30PM or so. The Mill's not really expensive.

Of course, rifles are not mandatory, any and all properly holstered handguns are welcome as always.

Anybody else coming? Let's celebrate our INDEPENDENCE in style!!

PS. You DO have time to make it to Dothan and back for these two OC events on the same day. If you have the money to go to Dothan, I encourage you to help out our brothers down there with the gun show as well!!

    Sure, if you want.

    ...although I prefer Everquest.

I put up a flyer at Hoover Tactical. They rule, support them.

    See ya'll on the fourth.

Where is the bulletin board? Also, did not know they are ok with OC. Bought my Mosin from them just last week.

They're fine with OC, just can't be loaded.

The owner has let me put trifolds in there for months. And there's not a bulletin board, he taped the flyer to the front door!

    Can't recommend 'em enough.

They're always friendly and helpful, and were kind enough to sell me a brand new Springfield Mil-Spec 1911. Hoover Tactical is great! ^_^

Fixed bayonet or not, you should OC the Mosin-Nagant! 7.62 = win. (39 or 54)
A wayfarer should not walk unarmed,
But have his weapons to hand:
He knows not when he may need a spear,

It's better in the original Icelandic. Lived there for a year and a half.

"Lta a maur aldrei hreyfa hans vegur stga n hans vopn af hernaur
ekki viss er the hygginn hvenr rf munu koma fram a spjt the vegur n."

Let a man never stir on his road a step
    without his weapons of war;
for unsure is the knowing when need shall arise
of a spear on the way.

    54. In the words of my aunt: "That is a BIG. BULLET." Then I showed her the hollow-points for the .45. =)

Were you really..."Ready for tonight!" haha. In retrospect, considering the events that transpired, I find that pretty funny.

Keep us posted, we are all foaming at the mouth to let those guys have it!!

    Yes, actually I was.

I stand prepared to get arrested/go to jail again and again in defense of our inalienable rights.

Not only that, but I am fully prepared to die at any moment in the defense of liberty.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Did you get your guns back yet?

    Nah.

They said it would take 14-30 days to get them back. And that they will be melted down and destroyed after 30 days.

I'm borrowing my Dad's 9mm for right now, just need a ride to Starbucks on Sunday with someone who has a CPL...anyone?

    Angry

They have to have time to do the full ballistic analysis, register it with BATFE, install the tracking device, and rig it to jam if you are ever in danger.

Thanks for the support MonkeyTown and McDonalk, I wish I could let em have the full weight of the "open carry phone call/email attack" but we'll give it little while.
    :-)

    Not only taken,

    ...but officially revoked.

    Nah.

Sheriff Hale's a good guy, you should still vote for him. I don't think he had anything to do with the permit mess. It is automatically revoked if you are arrested on any charge, I think, until the matter is cleared up.

I didn't know that. I know some locales have something to that effect printed right on the permit, but mine certainly doesn't.

I've been a fan of Mike Hale for a long time, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if OC was where we parted company...

The unbelievable stupidity (not to mention wastefulness) of melting guns just makes me sick. There are horrific pictures out there of fascists destroying them by the thousands. Yeah, those are the people we should be emulating.

BTW, International Gun Destruction Day is Friday.

I could be wrong, but I think it is definately on the Sheriff for revoking your licence. Unless I am just unaware of some higher authority, or law requiring it to be revoked, he is the authority for taking it or not. It wasn't a charge of violence or weapons, sooo? Nice guy or not, I would ask him about it, or your lawyer. Good luck with everything.
