Isnt it odd that the places where people are respectful of one another are also the places no one cares about an openly carried firearm. I also live just outsideof a small town, Deer Park WA, way too close to Spokane but still a small town. A place where when I went to the auto parts store the other day I got stopped by an employee to settle an argument between two other employees as to whether my gun was a Glock or an XD. Or when I got my hair cut yesterday another customer asked me how she could get her husband to carry more. No one calls 911 and as the hair cutter said no one messes with Orphan cause he's packing all the time. Life is good in small town USA, life was also good in small town USA 40, 50 years ago.

...An Armed Society

How True.

An Armed Society Is A Polite Society.

The only reason anyone looks twice at open carry here in Montana is to see (admire) what you're carrying. The usual question I'm asked here is from Men asking how to get their wives to carry.

If this weren't so very sad, it'd be LAUGHABLE.

Trying to debate with the indoctrinated leftists is like trying to explain to a jacked-up heroin addict about the dangers of heroin.

Anyway....... Moving here to Montana has been good for me for several reasons... Here's what it's like in a Patriotic U.S.A. Community.

1) For being a Patriotic American Citizen, I haven't been punched, kicked, tripped, shoved, spat upon or slapped since I left Seattle.
2) For being a Patriotic American Citizen, I haven't had urine thrown in my face, had my hair cut or had gum put in my hair since I left Seattle.
3) For being a Patriotic American Citizen, I haven't had a pitbull sicked on me since I left Seattle.
4) Here in Montana, we don't have the indoctrinated leftists calling us filthy, vile names (unless they're hiding behind their keyboard). YET.
5) Here in Montana, you won't see the indoctrinated, glassy-eyed, slack-jawed, limp-wristed, disease-ridden heroin addicts burning our flag or urinating/deficating on it. YET.
6) Here in Montana, if someone disagrees with your politics they know better than to spit in your face or call you filthy names. They seem to understand here that there are consequences to their actions, something you won't see in Seattle.
7) Here in Montana, the Men are MEN. And they know exactly what they are. Gentlemen. A far cry from the indoctrinated sissies living in capitol hill and downtown Seattle.
8) Our Veterans are treated well for the most part here in Montana (There's ALWAYS room for imporvement). We value their service to our Country and we take care of them when they need our help. We don't spit in their faces and call them "murderers" and "baby killers".
9) Here in Montana, the only death threats I receive are aimed at my blog from those hiding behind their keyboards. Not to my face.

At our Independence Day Parade in Ennis, we didn't see the indoctrinated leftists burning our flags, calling us filthy names or spitting and/or urinating on us for carrying our flag through the parade or for reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance. The Fourth Of July still MEANS SOMETHING here in Small Town U.S.A.

Yes, I'm very happy here. And if we have our way, we will nip things in the bud the minute some vile leftist pulls their crap here in Montana. Thank God For Small Town U.S.A.
Sounds like heaven on earth to me!

A little dramatic? I am sure flag burning leftists who pee all over people are not as common as you wish they were.

"Leftists," whatever you might mean by that, have as much respect for, and investment in America as right wingers. I think it is funny when someone does not agree with the views of another person they refer to them as a leftist. Enjoy Montana.

"Sylvia"...

You obviously haven't spent enough time with your pals in downtown Seattle lately.

I have.

They are VILE. And THAT is why I left my home of almost 50 years.

Did you seriously say before you "tapped one of them?" Tapped who--a criminal, or a left winger? I am not sure who my pals in Seattle might be that you would tap. I do not have many friends, actually I have very few friends, and the ones that I have do not live in Seattle.

My real name isn't Sylvia, it is actually Sara Mae. I just use Sylvia because I like Sylvia Plath, well, and some of us prefer to be discreet. I am not sure why I would though.

Don't get downtown much, do ya? :p

The people of whom the other lady is speaking are frequently down there in great big groups, yelling about something or other. They probably really aren't as plentiful as it often seems, they're just very good at being very loud & obnoxious and making themselves known. I've noticed that the left and the right protest very differently. Right-wingers stand in parks or on street corners, wave signs, yell & chant, but don't generally bother anyone. When lefties protest, they nearly always get downright nasty. They block roads & snarl traffic (Critical Mass), trespass and create physical barriers to removing them, or just plain start a riot (WTO). For a political ideology that's supposedly about peace & tolerance, they sure act violent & intolerant.

And no, I'm afriad they DO NOT have the same respect for, and investment in, America. Most of the left hates America, whether they'll admit it or not. Especially the loud protesty types. They'll go off on long detailed rants of how America is bad and look at all the bad we've done and it's all our fault & blah blah blah. The "blame America first" crowd, I'm sure you've heard of them. They deeply hate America and American exceptionalism and want to see it turned into an unremarkable clone of socialist Europe. Equality of outcome after all.

I am aware of spineless liberals, especially in Seattle. Having a different idea of America does not mean that you are against America. America will never be like Europe. I am left, and big tim pro small business...big business can take a leap. Nothing to do with OC/CC.

Since this is a OC group, I have to say, for such a progressive town, it is pretty damn OC friendly compared to some of the Conservative cities in Washington state, ironic.

EXACTLY! And it's not just in Seattle. Take a look at what's happening in Cali, AZ, and some other places. I had to get away from it, and I'm going to do everything I can to keep it from happening here where I live now. I'm afraid that vile plague is spreading, though, so people are really going to have to get nasty here soon if they don't want to get the treatment I've had to deal with living in the belly of the beast that is downtown Seattle.

People need to start standing up to that trash. And soon.

Well sweet! Since you know how trashy and crazy downtown seattle is, I would assume you would definitely support the CPL to 18 bill I am getting reintroduced this year? Because I have friends that are in after school programs for college prep and such, that have to deal with the krazzzies in seattle and I wouldn't want them walking around unarmed any much longer! What say you on this?

"The belly of the beast that is downtown Seattle," that is so funny. Seattle has a LOT of crime, but to say it is the belly of the beast, come on. What vile plague are you referring to, illegal aliens, liberals, criminals, what exactly are you referring to?

I do not know you, but I am pleased to hear that you have moved from a place that brings you so much misery. No one should suffer in such horrible conditions

One thing we all should be able to agree on is that this thread is not related in any real way to open carry, or any other vaguely relevant issue! :banghead:

Show me the bill (bill number?) and I'll let you know if I would support it. If I would support it, you can bet I'd support it with everything I've got. I'm also a strong supporter of "Students For Concealed Carry On Campus" group. These so-called "Gun-Free Zones" are killing our children.

Obviously you haven't spent much time downtown. I lived in that Hell for many years, and I'm well traveled. Seattle IS the belly of the beast for any pro-America Conservative.

Same old broad statement. It makes sense until you start reading about the bottom 50% of Americans. At least 14% of those are considered absolutely poor, meaning, they are probably lucky if that have a meal to eat, and a pot to piss in. Then the rest make all the way up to 35k approximate a year. 35K is nothing these days.

I was looking for the exact statistic, but couldn't find it. However, even someone at the "poverty" line here in the US is still in the top 15% of the world in terms of wealth. On a global scale we all look pretty rich.

It's just a breeding ground for pro-America Liberals. Seattle is not as bad as many other cities in the U.S. with large populations. I am not well traveled but have traveled some, and Seattle is crappy, but there are worse cities, that's for sure. And in some of those other cities you aren't even allowed to own or carry a sidearm.

Personally, I think you are being over dramatic about how bad Seattle really is. It is definitely no utopia like some progressives want people to believe it is, but far from being anything like the belly of the beast. You should travel to a few obvious places if you are looking for that, D.C., Chicago, N.Y., Compton...there you will find what you are so eager to label as the "belly of the beast."

Better days in America are ahead, just as soon as Americans realize that having different views is American. I have heard many people talk about the "silent majority" and all of that BS, it doesn't exist. If the silent majority does exist, they tend to stand up and vote for liberals. Think about this last election where millions of new voters went to the booth, those millions were Liberals, and some Independents. Independents are far from being a majority.

Like I said, I think it is great you are in Montana. One less Debbie-downer to deal with in a city that already needs some TLC.
