One of the worst suggestions I have ever seen.
If it looks like a gun, it will be treated as if you have a gun. Do not play games with the RKBA. There are far better ways to get the message across.

please no game are being played you can not go to jail for carrying a cap gun this is just a way to demonstrate open carry without being arrested try to think of some way to help out without criticize other people
go be the first one to open carry here in texas with a real handgun not just one day but every day but I think after the first day you will be arrested and that the reason for cap gun they are legal something to get the media attention to demonstrate open carry
I am not as familiar with the laws of Texas as I am of those in Virginia, but I can assure you that in Va. if you are carrying in a manner not allowed, you are going to garner a lot of unwanted attention even if it is a cap pistol i.e. in a court house, by a convicted felon etc.
This goes so far that if you point what turns out to be a cap pistol at someone, they would assuredly be justified in using deadly force in response if you put them in fear of their life.
I think you mean well, but your suggestion is extremely ill advised IMO.

man you are way out of line i think that anyone in this forum know better then to point any kind of weapon at anyone unless it for self defense if you read it again you will see it say cap gun in a holster
this would not be consider illegal to have a peaceful march to demonstrate that we should have the right to open carry in texas with a lot of help from the media
this would not be consider illegal this is just to demonstrate open carry with out being arrested not illegal but but still would need a permit for the march and to advise austin pd of what we will be doing
Why would you suggest that? I never hinted at someone carrying a real handgun.
I subscribe to the OCDO dictum of obeying the laws and working to change those the legislature those with which I do not agree.
There are many kinds of media and LE attention - neither is always positive - be careful for what you wish.
If you feel so strongly about OCing a cap gun, break the ice and be the first - please let us know how that works out.
Stop with the schemes that as you can seen nobody is endorsing.
Read up on what is and is not happening in Texas regarding OC.

Put your cap gun away and align yourself with the experienced people in your state that have been in the trenches and getting their hands dirty doing yeomen's work - there are more than a few. Then you will be accomplishing something good.
You have already earned the right of IG - your want to try for NORE?
Or are you serious about wanting to help your state - if so reread the above and proceed accordingly.

Have you read anything I posted and linked for you? Experience has taught many people that what you propose in not the best idea no one, not one person has come out in support of your idea - it is foolhardy and chock full of legal pitfalls as well as a potential public relations fiasco.
Try peddling this to

Try peddling this to those that are striving to get carry of any type in colleges and universities - they carry empty holsters.
there no wrong or right here just suggestion which iam allow to post and he allow to post what on his mind toI agree with Grapeshot, it's a bad idea. Instead of being defensive of it, why don't you just admit that it was a bad idea, scrap it, then seek help in coming up with new ideas? There is not shame in asking for help or admitting you're wrong. In fact, both are quite commendable and honorable.
