    Women!

So.... Someone stole a car stereo out of one of our cars sitting in the driveway last night. Not real tough to do since we normally leave doors unlocked and usually have the keys in the ignition. Anyhow, the wife previously hadn't felt to comfortable with the gun in the house so it's usually in a safe in the garage.

So... this morning I get ragged at because the gun isn't readily available.

Ya, I like it when my wife sends me out to see what went bump in the night, but also reminds to take my handgun or shotgun....or both, just to be safe.

Glockgirl and I work as a team. She's a certified instructor, range safety officer, CCW holder and advanced combat league shooter. And I'd hate to see what would happen to anyone who seriously got her riled up.

    No worries here.

I know how you feel. Before my wife got sick, she was H-E-double hockey sticks on wheels. She still would be formidable. Twice in the last couple of years, I heard the reassuring sound of a slide being racked on her semi auto behind me. Made the fellow I was speaking to take note as well.

We've never really had a problem with guns other than not enough of them. She took to them right away and we spent many a fun and happy day at the range. She definitely was a better shot than me. While I would put a nice group center mass, she would make a smiley out of it. Show off.

Shotguns are a good choice if they are high capacity and the barrel isn't too long.

Why did a country song instantly start playing in my head when I read that line?

It is a country song, just backwards.

My wife wasn't really a gun person before we got married. She tolerated my hobby, but she didn't really care for it. Fast forward 5 years and now she loves to go shooting, and when we were out at a baseball game with her family this weekend her brother stated that he wants to buy a pistol and she went on a 5 minute speech about how concealed firearms are a good idea.

    I'm so proud of her.

I wish i could get my wife to my way of thinking. last night she told me i need to get some sort of locking cabinet for my guns. before i get anymore. all because of my wise crack about how i needed some AK47 they had on sale at fleet farm. she got into this whole ti raid about how i don't need anymore guns and i really need to slow down on them because me buying guns is like her going out and buying expensive handbags. i tried to tell her that at least i get use out of my guns and they hold value very well. unlike hand bags. as far as the gun cabinet she said that because she knows i wont buy one but i thought about it more and it makes sense to get one so i can lock up my guns when I'm not around. and it will probably be awhile anyway need to buy upgrades for my AR before i can start saving for the next big gun purchase

but back to the topic why the garage of all places?

Safe is heavy and I haven't brought it inside. Also, I don't OC around the house much so it is convenient to grab on the way out to the car.

#1 I wouldn't advertise that you do not have a locking gun cabinet to anyone. Especially with an AR under your roof. The internet is not nearly as private as one might think. And number two, that was a heck of a deal at Fleet Farm.
