Does anyone else hate the ads that run in the posts?

If someone posts a thread that is one or two lines, the darn ad keep getting in the way and I have to adjust things ever so slightly to be able to read it.

    Anyone else having trouble?

If all the commercial members, members capitalizing on the resource made available by our owner, paid for the resource then the rest of us wouldn't have to.

Somehow I knew that you'd be along soon with a quality response. Thanks for not disappointing me Douggie.

I figured a way around it, so thanks.

No, not having any problems reading the posts. I just ignore the ads, though some of them are kind of funny.

Yeah, like the weight loss one? They must have gotten the idea somewhere that a fair number of OC'ers have pretty much the same body type.

Yeah, I ignore the body one. The funny ones are the Front Sight and Close Combat ones. I've looked at them both and they are a joke. I don't dare click on the Outdoors Trader ad. I'm broke!

Has anyone else noticed that there exists a correlation between "impecuniousness" and susceptibility to commercial blandishments, to marketeering, and to the lies of snake-oil salesmen?

vBulletin screws up the formatting with certain ads. That's all. Sometimes I have to hunt for the post, and I find the text in the margin below the user's name.

I rather enjoy the idea that we can have a nice and stable server with no need for PBS grade begathon fund raising. So I like the ads.

I could ignore the ads, but the flashing ones at the top of the page take up bandwidth. Every time I open a page I click on the "stop" X so they freeze. I wish they would go to stable ads.

(& no, I don't mean places with horses. Jeesh, gotta head you guys off at the pass. Oops, another pun. I'd better get away from the keyboard for a little while.)
