Who would have thought?...

Gov. Manchin signed SB-1005 into law in June. This is the bill that makes it illegal in WV for out-of-state LEAs to run illegal gun-buying sting operations. This new law is in response to NY Mayor Bloomberg's program of sending NYSP undercover officers to other states (mostly VA and PA) to attempt to make illegal purchases at gun shows and from individuals.

Hurray for Gov. Manchin!

BTW, Manchin is a life-long Democrat, who comes from a family of famous life-long WV Democrat politicos.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg started his career as a Democrat. When he first ran for Mayor of NY, he changed his party affiliation to Republican, in 2001. In 2007, he changed party affiliation again to Independent.

Apparently, Mr. Bloomberg thinks that just because he changed the color of the sheepskin he's hiding under, the People won't notice the fangs...

Flip-Flop

Don't forget that Governor Manchin vetoed the first version of this bill, SB 515 from the 2010 Regular Session, citing alleged technical flaws in the first bill that seemed rather flimsy in many people's view. We told it like it was and he then had to backpedal and include the bill on the May special session agenda and signed it the second time around.

Just think, barring divine intervention, Governor Manchin will soon be Senator Manchin. :(
