An acquaintance of mine was coming through the area yesterday and had an hour layover at Seatac, so I went to visit with him for the short time he was here.

It wasn't until I got there that I realized that there might be a problem getting him out of the secure area, visiting and getting him back through the line in time to catch his connecting flight. So I looked around to see who might be able to help and spied a POS PD Sgt. I went to him and explained my situation and he jumped right in to help me, even escorting me to the best place to catch my friend so as to waste as little time as possible.

While we were hurrying through the terminal I brought up the subject of OC (I wasn't carrying at the time because I didn't want to waste what little time I had trying to clear up a misunderstanding). I brought up the fact that a few people from OCDO had been detained, etc. as little as 1 1/2 - 2 years ago. He said to me that they are much better trained now and that that sort of thing shouldn't happen anymore. He also said he supports OC and would like to see more people do it. He even mentioned that he'd seen someone OC in the Safeway in Port Orchard.

All in all it was a VERY good encounter.

I OC'd at SeaTac airport several times with no problems. Even when they had their strict "rules". Good news to hear though that they have been properly informed and trained better.
