Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.

1) post essays that state that the "grassroots" orgs in MD are too polite, and might want to consider getting a little more "personal" with some of the politicians in MD...

2) When accused of being wrong about facts or statistics by "high post count" members, post links to verifiable sources that prove you right. They can't stand that.

3) point out to "high post count members" that "CCW" isn't a permit, it's a crime, and if they EVER want to get "Shall Issue" they need to STOP using the very term that the media has designed to invoke fear in the public. (oh, they HATE that one...)

4) When high post count members get you blocked from posting, sign up for another account, and start posting again. This will get you blocked for life, for "having multiple accounts"... No warnings. No emails or PMs. Just blocked... And they'll erase EVERY single post you ever made, effectively throwing your existence down an Orwellian memory hole.

Lesson Learned:
If you sign on to a forum populated by self-righteous, hubris-filled, politically-correct "activists", and try and offer some "outside the box" ideas before your post count hits 3 digits, you WILL be metaphorically hunted down and beaten like a redheaded stepchild...

I would agree with a lot of your assessment. I have been going to MD a lot lately and started perusing the MD Shooters forum. They seem 'soft' or PC, whatever you want to call it. I saw once a pro gun bill 'almost' made it out of committee and they acted like it was some sort of victory. I don't get it. But it's their business so I don't say anything.

On another note it does seem they are doing a decent job of raising awareness among the citizenry, the more their numbers grow the more weight they can throw around.

Based upon this post, I have added two new rules to the forum rules at http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/misc.php?do=showrules

Per new rule #1:

NO BASHING OF OTHER GUN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS: Regardless of how convinced you are that another gun rights organization is not doing their job, this is not the place to air those concerns unless they are specifically related to an anti-open carry position taken by that organization. All other rants against other gun rights groups will be deleted or the thread locked.

Therefore, I am locking this thread.

And new rule #2 addresses the question of multiple accounts here on OCDO:

MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS ARE NOT ALLOWED: Signing up multiple accounts (or alts) is a tactic employed by spammers and trolls and not legitimate members. Doing so will result in the banning of all accounts involved.

Everyone should note these new rules and adjust their behavior accordingly.
