    Talking Great Job Jeff!

Jeff, looking forward to the story. You should get your wife to carry with you! That would make an even better story. Hope to see you guys again at a future open carry event!

I carry in Janesville everyday! Of course no one has ever said anything to me about carry in JVL. Good luck with the story, can't wait to read it.

The reporter just interviewed me via phone today. He said the story should run Sunday.

I am thinking of visiting my home State during that time period, and if I do, I will be there for the open carry in Delavan.

I just read the hard copy. Decent article. Seems neutral. Didn't mis-quote me. Didn't say everything I did but also didn't take anything I said out of context. I don't see it on the web site yet. When I do, I'm sure someone will post it.

It has pictures of Jeff and his brother.

Nope. No pictures of me. My interview was exclusively via telephone.

    Here's the actual article

Only one inaccuracy on my part of the interview. I have never open carried in Elkhorn. I mentioned that I have in Delavan and other places, however.

One other thing I noticed is he said that Nik said

Open Carry is adding about 100 members a month, he said. He would not disclose how many members the organization had.
I assume he mis-quoted Nik since I'm sure Nik said Wisconsin Carry.

    The reporter also said

People must have permission to carry on private property such as stores or restaurants.
which is inaccurate. I am pretty sure I didn't say this to him. I will email him to straighten him out.

Anyone who is not a convicted criminal prohibited from having a firearm can openly carry a gun in most places.
Isn't it felons who cannot carry?

People canít carry a gun in a vehicle unless it is unloaded and put away.
Should change that to encased. Put away sounds like the trunk, glove box, center counsel, etc.

People also canít be intoxicated while carrying.
Is there a statute on this? I do not remember.

I talked with the reporter for quite a while and covered a lot of information. He got a couple of the quotes a little off.

He said carriers donít want to draw attention and would prefer to conceal carry if it was legal. He said residents of all ages and professions open carry every day.
What I actually said was that open-carriers aren't trying to prove a point and in fact, many of our members would prefer to conceal carry, but they open-carry because its the only way to do so legally.

So its a little inaccurate to draw the conclusion that "carriers" in general would prefer to conceal carry. Many would, some would not. Not a huge mis-quote, he did take a lot of information from me. Oh well.

Felons and a couple other classes, people who have domestic violence charges, I believe.

    Encased, you are correct.

Statute on drinking I don't have.
