Welcome aboard!

A relatively good site for info on CA CCWs is http://www.calccw.com though the general tenor of the site is to err on the cautious side of firearms legal issue. For example they espouse that one should never have ammo in the same container as a locked firearm when transporting or that its illegal to store a locked & loaded firearm in a vehicle (store, not transport) However, its an excellent resource for finding out what works or doesn't in particular jurisdictions.

If you haven't been there already, I highly recommend http://www.calguns.net as an outstanding resource for firearms information in CA. Open Carry is somewhat frowned upon, but its definately the largest CA resource out there for firearms.
