There are many groups that have been left off of the official list of opposition, including both Calguns and Gun Owners of California. This happened during the bill review for the Senate Public Safety Committee as well. We need to get this "error" rectified immediately. Also, Responsible Citizens of California's official opposition statements have not been included in the bill analysis and we have personally handed both electronic and hard copies to be filed and included on this floor analysis. Anyone who has written an opposition letter to AB 1934 and sent it in on official letterhead should have been included on the opposition list. Something dirty is afoot.

Here is the official Calguns letter of opposition to AB 1934:

The missing groups listed as official opposition to AB 1934 were also an issue during the Public Safety Committee hearings. Walter Stanley directly addresses this issue at 2:50 at the link that can be found here.

Are you kidding me? Whoever wrote the opposition completely forgot about the 2nd amendment, Heller and McDonald. You know, the right to keep and bear arms.

What kind of argument is that? This whole bill of rights thing cramps our representatives' style. How many of our inalienable rights do current open carry laws and AB 1934 violate? The right to free speech, right to bear arms, right to be secure against unreasonable search and seizure, right to due process, right to be entitled to equal protection of the laws, right of privacy, and the right to defend oneself. Don't see any of those listed.

Man, it really seems like civics should be taught in schools again. AP Government just ain't cuttin it.

Then again, these people had civics..then promptly forgot about it when it was convenient.

*rolleyes*
