For some reason, the JCC courthouse no longer provides the VA concealed carry form. A friend recently went in to apply and was kindly directed to go print the form off the web, though they did provide the web link. This is a fairly recent change as the courthouse did have the forms in May this year. Seems like a subtle way to discourage applications, like many county processes they tend to be setup as to frustrate interaction with the public. - :banghead:

The forms are here btw: - http://www.vsp.state.va.us/FormsPublications.shtm#Firearms

Just passing this along for what its worth.

wonder what they propose for people that don't have internet. i'm not sure but i think the percentage is low for people who have it . is there some policy of equal access?

That's a good question.
I obviously have internet but don't have a printer.

Catch 22? "You need to submit a requisition to order more supplies. We're out of requisition forms."

Just a guess, but doesn't the courthouse have internet access? They might not let the public use it, but they could download and print the application. Also, they might direct people to the county/public library. I think that they should do the former.

Depending on when you went there, they may have not had the new form on hand. It changed July 1st.

It doesn't say anything about who is responsible for supplying the form, only that the application "shall be made only on a form prescribed by the Department of State Police".

I suppose if you wrote the State Police a letter asking for one, they would probably send you one. But who knows.
