I went into the Sheriff's Office the other day with another gentleman from this site. He was carrying his sidearm on him and lo, we were kicked out. I ended up calling the Sheriff himself, and he said the officers have been spoken to. He said he will also be conducting a new training program to insure the staff in the building are aware of the laws regarding open carry on the premises. He informed me I should not be hassled again.

Did you also make him aware of RCW's 9A.80.010, 36.28.011, 9A.36.070, and 42.20.100?

I'd like to know if Dick Butler will face criminal prosecution for his willful disregard for state law.

Only when you see one of these go by:

I have 3 buddies that are CCSO...

I have known two of them for almost 30 years and one for 10. They all know that OC is legal and CCSO is in full awareness that it is legal. Perhaps you got a new, young deputy. I have carried in the presence of these buddies of mine at the fair, at a Seahawks game and many other locations.

Sheriff Lucas is a true champion of the law abiding people of Clark County, he has been Sheriff my complete adult life. Sheriff Lucas still works traffic from time to time and writes a handfull of speeding/traffic tickets a month.

That is good to know gogodawgs. I told the sheriff if he continues down the route to defending my rights, he will always have my vote. I was very impressed with his response.

I know it's not an excuse...

but maybe they just didn't like somebody they didn't know carrying. A lot of people try to test the limits. It's going to happen and some will get it more than others. Most object to me carrying until they get to know or observe me for a while. Then they appreciate me having a firearm around.
