In Politics, Sometimes The Facts Don't Matter

Arguing logically may not be enough to sway most people who hold an Anti OC/Firearm position. New research suggests that misinformed people rarely change their minds when presented with the facts -- and often become even more attached to their beliefs.

It does not take university research to figure that out! This has been known for, what?, 2800 years? that people don't change their minds just because they are presented with facts! Look up the history of rhetoric and Sophists, Aristotle and Socrates.

Looks like this time-wasting nonsense to tell us what almost every human being knows already came from some sort of sociology-connected activity in a university. Oh, brilliant. Now, they are wasting time and money studying things even the psych's can't figure out--why people hold contrary opinions in the face of facts is in the field of the mind. But, hey, that assumes they are actually trying to solve something, rather than just "studying" for the sake of making some learned-sounding pronouncement in order to justify getting more money for "research."
