The National Shooting Sports Foundation is urging MI residents to contact the EPA to oppose a petition filed earlier this month by the Center for Biological Diversity to ban traditional ammo, citing the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976,in which Congress exempted ammo from being regulated as a "Toxic substance".CBD states a danger to raptors such as eagles, eating unrecovered game and humans eating game shot with traditional ammo. The NSSF states there is no scientific evidence and from 1981-2006 the eagle recovery has increased 724%,and the federal excise tax that manufacturers pay on the ammo(11%) is a primary source of wildlife conservation funding. The guy Obama put in office to interpret laws and create regulations(I forget his name, but he's a socialist)probably has something to do with this no doubt, and the Center for Biological Diversity(diversity is a socialist byword)is certainly not diverse considering the fact they are trying to ban something that does no harm whatsoever(can you spell anti-hunting?).The NSSF recomends we email, write or call Lisa P. Jackson,Administrator,U.S EPA,1200 pennsylvania ave.,NW, Washington,DC 20460.Call 202-501-4700;fax 202-501-1450 or email jackson.lisa@epa.gov .You can also contact Steve Owens,Assistant Administrator,Prevention,Pesticides&Toxic Substances U.S EPA, 1200 Pennsylvania Ave.,NW,Washington,DC 20460.
