I am wondering if I have the same right while riding my motorcycle as I do walking or if I should abide by the same rules as being in a car.

Does any one know the law on this?

I would post in the CA forum, as it's likely a legal issue there with all their wonderful laws. Here in NC, open carry is completely legal whether in a car or walking around, so I just have it on my side like anywhere else.

You're going to want to check California's specific laws...however, most laws don't differentiate between motorcycles and automobiles (and trucks for that matter.) They are simply "motor vehicle" laws...that apply across the board.

IANAL...so check with one to make sure.

From Cali, motorcycles are treated the same as motor vehicles, Handguns must be in a locked container. Long guns can be unlocked as long as you are not near (1000 feet) of a k-12 school zone
