AR15 in 7.62x39

I seen bushmaster has these, anyone ever had a 7.62x39 AR? Thoughts?

I hate to be a debbie downer, but I see no advantage in a 7.62x39 ar15, unless you have a ton of ammo for it already. Maybe a 5.45x39 ar15, because the cost of quality bulk ammo is so low right now. Getting parts for a standard ar15 is a breeze, for one in a caliber other than 5.56/223 could be tough unless you want to order online. Just my opinion on the matter, don't let me stop you from enjoying it anyway.

I've always heard bad things about ARs in 7.62X39 due to the curvature needed in the mag to get reliable feeding.

There are AR lowers being made that accept AK mags.

This sounds like an interesting concept. Something in a carbine (M4-length) with a collapsing stock would be ideal for clearing a house, fetching dinner, and dispatching varmints.

IMO, the gun is built for third world use. The 7.62 is found all over due to Russia's arms deals of the past and Bushmaster wants to have some of that global pie too. I would own a 9mm AR before I would steer toward the 7.62x39 The .223 is fare more accurate of a round if you want to target shoot though. But if you want to do some mercenary work. The 7.62x39 is easy to find in a pinch when your LZ is abroad. Though don't get it mixed up with the 7.62x51 NATO.
