I have no problem carrying a firearm openly but don't know if I could handle a kilt. I do have a friend who works construction in Hawaii who wears a utilikilt to work every day. He has become known as "the kilt guy" all over the island. :)

I've always wanted a utilikilt. I almost bought one in Georgia when they had a sales event down there, but I had no idea that their cheapest pair is $300 or so.

I've seen the "Original" for about 150.00 on thinkgeek.com

Owning a Utilikilt is on my short list of things to purchase. OC'ing with one is on that list after the purchase! I tried one on earlier this year in the store, I was CC'ing at the time and kind of surprised the guy when I said, I'll try one one but I need to put this holster somewhere....

Can you CC with a thigh rig? That'd be so sweet.

When a Scotsman wears a kilt he also wears a sporin. It would make a good place to carry a pistol too. Here's a leather one:

It is worn to keep the front of the kilt from billowing out in the wind. Helps keep your "privates" private.

If you ask a Scotsman why he wears one of these he will most likely smile and reply "so I can keep the family treasure next to the "family jewells".
