CPS Worker Pleaded for Cops to Come Before Powell Blew Up House

She told the 911 operator she wanted to move her car out of the driveway because she smelled gas coming from the house, and then asked for police to be sent to the home. But the 911 operator said officers only get sent to life-threatening situations.

Police are not able to protect you.

Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred about 10 p.m. Friday in the 2300 block of W. Cherry St. The victim, a 42-year-old man, was killed during a dispute in the street, and we are still interviewing witnesses to gather the facts. No arrests have been made at this time. Homicide victim ID'd; suspects arrested. A man fatally shot in the 5900 block of N. 76th St. Wednesday has been identified as Elliott W. Kennedy, 35. Through the excellent police work by MPD's Fugitive Apprehension Unit to track them down and community cooperation in the process, 3 suspects are in custody. Police and citizens together sucessfully combat crime, fear and disorder!

There have been 9 homicides in Milwaukee so far in 2012. The victims are:
* Travon T. Johnson, 23 was shot in the 3300 block of N. 29th St. Jan. 1.
* Desiree M. Harrell, 43 was shot in the 3800 block of N. 24th Pl. Jan. 2.
* Dayana Bados, 24 was stabbed during a domestic violence incident in the 2800 block of S. 13th St. Jan. 3.
* Irven Hale, 20 was shot in the 3900 block of N. 13th St. on Jan. 4.
* Eddie F. Ellis, 16 was shot during a fight in the 8100 block of W. Villard Ave. Jan. 4.
* Anthony T. Harris, 22, was shot in the 1000 block of W. Keefe Ave. Jan. 29.
* Artaze T. Williams, 22 was shot in the 2300 block of W. Vienna on Feb. 3.
* Marlon Booker, 39, was shot and found in the 4900 block of N. 49th St. Feb. 8.
* Family notifications are pending for a man shot in the 5900 block of N. 76th St. Feb. 8 so his identity is not being released at this time.

Milwaukee Police investigate death of man in fire as homicide. Marlon Booker, 39, was found deceased in a house fire at 4910 N. 49th St. at 2 a.m. Wed. Two Milwaukee Police Officers on patrol smelled smoke in the area of 48th & Hampton and tracked it to the vacant house on 49th St. The officers forced entry to the burning building and shouted to try and alert any occupants. The Milwaukee Fire Department arrived and put out the fire.
Booker's body was discovered inside. He had been shot multiple times. We are investigating this crime as a homicide. We continue to look for suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call 414-935-7360.

Armed robber caught on video! Watch this video to see excellent video of armed robber before he steals a woman's purse, car and threatens to shoot her.
Occurred Feb. 7, 2012 9622 W. Fond du Lac Ave. Victim parked in the lot of the convenience store, got out of her car and walked to the store. The suspect who was standing in the lot spoke to her as she walked by. As she returned to her vehicle the suspect approached her and demanded her car keys, purse and cell phone. He also threatened to shoot her. After obtaining her property the suspect directed the victim to enter the passenger side of her car, however, as she went around her vehicle she ran back to the store, entered and yelled for help. The suspect fled in the victim's auto.
In viewing the video surveillance tape that captured the incident it shows the suspect entered the victim's vehicle after she got out and went into the store. He removed her purse and went through the purse while he watched the victim as she was inside the store. When the victim returned to her vehicle the suspect approached her pinning her to the driver's side of the vehicle. Moments later the victim is observed going to the passenger side of her vehicle while the suspect is seen entered the driver's seat to her auto. Suspect: B/M, 25-35yoa, 5'8"-5'9", 180-190lbs, light complexion, twisty braids in his hair, wearing a navy blue or black sweat shirt w/ hood, and dark jeans. Implied weapon.
The victim's auto a 2000 Chevy Impala dark blue auto, bearing license #660-TAL.

TODAY'S GOOD NEWS: Traffic stop nets armed, dangerous felon. On Tuesday at 3:54 p.m., Police Officers Joe Baltutis, Joe Zawikowski were on patrol conducting burglary suppression in the neighborhood of N. 55th and W. Vienna Av. The officers saw a suspicious vehicle in the area and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle entered an alley and the front passenger jumped from the moving SUV, falling to the ground and then ran away. The officers immediately put out a description of the suspect and other squads responded to set up containment. Officer Zawikowski began checking the yards and found the suspect hiding in some bushes where he was taken into custody. The suspect had marijuana on him. Officers Zawikowski and Baltutis returned to the alley where the suspect had jumped from the SUV and found in the snow a loaded handgun.
After an extensive record check, the officers found the suspect was using another name and has an extensive felony record including convictions for recklessly endangering safety, possession of a dangerous weapon, and he has an open warrant for burglary.
Outstanding work by Officers Zawikowski and Baltutis are commended for their initiative and keen observation skills in taking into custody an armed and dangerous felon.

I have had this G00gle Alert since 19 April 2009 and so have gotten used to the rate and type of gun related articles from my specified location: Wisconsin. Recently the Wisconsin media has been printing every gun related article they can fine in any state. Yesterday and today's G00gle Alert had about a dozen articles clipped, but only one or two from Wisconsin.

A family affair turned ugly at a Wauwatosa night spot, proving that those who drink to excess together, sometimes pose for mug shots together.
At 12:48 a.m. last Saturday, a 31-year-old Milwaukee man and his two sisters, one 36 and from Wauwatosa, the other 30 and living in Milwaukee, were arrested for disorderly conduct after they started a fight with other patrons inside Leff’s Lucky Town, 7208 W. State St., that spilled outside.
Police found the man shirtless and so intoxicated he nearly passed out in the back of a squad car and was unable to answer questions.
His sisters were also staggering, swaying and unable to form rational sentences – except for brief, screamed, profanity-laden clauses in the imperative mood that were sometimes grammatically correct but perhaps anatomically unpalatable, regarding what the police could do with, presumably, themselves or others.
Witnesses said that the three had arrived only minutes before the fracas began and were not overserved by Leff's staff.

Hmm, I seem to remember Leff's is posted (on the inside). Imagine how fast that fight would have stopped had the people be armed?!

MADISON (WKOW) – Madison police say a man robbed the Clark gas station, 1129 S. Park Street, Tuesday night.

Police say at about 7:50 p.m., a 24-year-old gas station clerk was held up by a knife by a man wearing a white mask or towel over his face. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7", who was wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans.

Police say the suspect fled after getting cash from the register.
