Daley Successor Effect on Wisconsin Carry

If a pro-Constitution Chicago mayor can get elected, it most likely will mean that Wisconsin will be standing alone without concealed carry if Barrett gets in. The elitists (board members include "Tony the Taxer Earl" and Milwaukee's Howard Fuller) that control Chicago's Joyce Foundation (and it's $900 million of assets) will be doing everything in their power to make sure that they retain control of Ilinosis and Wisconsin firearm policy.

Joyce Foundation gun control front organizations and other anti-firearm efforts:

Click on the "mind map" to became very scared for the future of "what does reasonable regulation mean" with all the "research" being funded.

Former Joyce Foundation Lackey's Reasons Why "No Guns for YOU"

Adler was formerly a lead gun control program officer for Joyce Foundation.

    http://www.acslaw.org/node/16567

Quote " Even so, Ander noted, law enforcement professionals, when under stress, have difficulty hitting their target; it is reasonable to conclude that the non-professional, untrained individual, may be even more predisposed to fire wildly, hitting innocent bystanders rather than intended criminal targets."

Make a statement without a basis in truth enough times and it becomes accepted knowledge......

I have actually heard "officer training" type "gun dealers" make similar statements at GUN SHOWS. About how NOBODY is qualified to carry without "his training," and these are the guys who sell????

    Any One????

    You got it, HAND GUNS.

Talk about hypocrisy. Needless to say, I haven't done business with the guy since he made those statements to me at a gun show.

As for the OP, I don't think this will change a thing one way or the other in WI.

That the police generally have more misses than hits in real-life shooting situations has been know for a long time. Statistically non-LEO's actually have a better shot-hit ratio, so one could make the argument that guns are better off in the hands of non-LEO's from those statistics.

It hardly tells the whole story. Misses aren't necessarily due to stress and how would they be able to determine what caused misses for the police or anyone? Rarely would your opponent stand still and let you launch bullets in their direction. Most likely you and your opponent are moving and shooting, it makes hits difficult if just one is moving, but much more difficult if both are moving.

Secondly, police and non-LEO's tend to get into different shooting situations. Police are much more likely to have somebody suddenly pull a gun during a traffic stop, or to face a barricaded opponent, and police pursue criminals into unknown areas and buildings, etc. Non-LEO's are more likely to be defending their home turf from an invader and are much less likely to be expected to be armed by the opponent.

I could go on, but the bottom line-- it's difficult to draw well-thought conclusions by comparing LEO and non-LEO shootings. And attempting to draw conclusions about the suitability of non-LEO's being armed by comparison to police performance is certainly risky at best if not outright deceitful.

I've been in "High stress" shoot don't shoot scenarios multiple times, either with an "active shooter/actor" (FX marking cartridge) and video wall shoot rooms. For those that have not hand hands on training, I say this, best you keep your unfounded opinions to yourself.
I also have participated in a Nation wide study of how a active shooter in many different types of situations, where it is coming from, where the weapon is (reach, lunge or gradable area) from varying distances and multiple positions in which the hand gun was concealed.
More often than not (no matter who the individual is) if you are in a position where you are the one dealing with an armed assailant, YOU WILL place your rounds right in the immediate area of the threat (weapon)
So don't go thinking you're gonna do a double tap and be successful. That takes thousands of rounds and hours to do, referring to an active shooter or engaging an immediate/eminent threat.
All the practice you get putting lead down range pays off. Not to mention what happens when and if you experience some kind of malfunction w/ you weapon! You'll crap your pants the minute it happens under pressure!

If Obama's right hand man Emanuel decides to run for Daley's job as rumored, Chicago gun rights will go from the frying pan into the fire. It almost appears the job is his if he wants it.

Mind map addition: Obama = Former Joyce Foundation board member. Joyce Foundation - Obama - Emanual = Joyce Foundation influence on Chicago gun laws.

Finding "Facts" to Fit the Conclusion

Joyce funded study finds that firearms is an effective means for suicide (does not mention that what makes them effective for suicide also makes them the most effective means for self defense.)

The new magic term for firearm restriction will be "means restriction."
