And all swiss men are required to serve in the military as well as maintain a government issued firearm. could this be why the there was a hole in Germany's map of occupied countries during WWII?

It's not like we didn't know all that, and it's not like our government doesn't know all that. Our danger is that our government thinks it is more important than we are. The Swiss government is depending on its people to defend it. Our government thinks it doesn't need us. That's because our government has grown way too big and powerful. We must knock it down to a proper size. Even when conservatives are in control, the very size of the bureaucratic monster imposes draconian influence over the States and the people. Yes, we need to get rid of the totalitarian socialists who currently run things in Washington. Yes, we need to undo as much of the damage they've caused as possible. But our real challenge is to cut the federal government by half or two thirds or even more. Unless we do that we will continue to be in constant fear of losing our gun rights.
