challenge Mt. Airy Parks policy

hey
the Mt. airy, NC policy in parks is no firearms period. so, of course only people carrying illegally will be there :banghead: . i would like to challenge this. any suggestions, like where do i start?

i know that most of the commissioners and the mayor are gun friendly. and i feel this is policy set up by whiny bureaucrats

illegal to carry firearms in NC State Parks.

It is currently illegal to carry a firearm in state parks in NC. You would need to get the legislature to change the law.

15A NCAC 12B .0901 FIREARMS: WEAPONS: EXPLOSIVES
(a) No person except authorized park employees, their agents, or contractors, or officers of the state shall carry or possess firearms, airguns, bows and arrows, sling shots, or lethal missiles of any kind within any park.

Incorrect about this quote...the parks he is speaking of are almost certainly NOT STATE parks, but rather city parks. My understanding is that it would be up to Mount Airy to change these and the mayor and commissioners would likely be a great place to start on this topic.

yeah, i know. i just wanted to get y'all opinion, since you do have a great advocacy group(VCDL), and the fact that a lot of VA people come to Mt. airy
