While looking up some stats for another thread, I ran across the following:
Colorado Population - 2006: 4.8 million (interpolated)
CHP Permit Applications - 2006: 6241
Note: The issue rate was 93.9%
Even allowing for 100% of all permit-holders remaining here in the state, for a total of 31,205 permit-holders (they're good for 5 years), that's still just 0.65% of the population at large!
I'd been lead to belief it was upwards of 10% to 20% of the population. But it's just over 1/2 of 1%.
Aside from counting people who show up at OC dinners (not very scientific), do we have any stats on OCers in this state?
