Police Forum Thread on the Culver's 5

    http://www.apbweb.com/forums/news-5/...icketed-43027/

Interesting thread I found on the incident. Looks like most cops could care less about your rights.

One looks like he is WI state patrol. Why does that seem so familiar to me?

"I also think they are trying to bait officers/departments into arresting / citing them." - Dumb@ss poster

Wow. Imagine that somebody wants to record a conversation between them an an LEO. Not because I am baiting them, but because frankly I don't trust him enough for his police report to be 100% accurate. Especially if there are no witnesses around. How am I supposed to know how he feels about my right to OC?

    Red face

They were definitely baiting the officers. It's clear as they called the police on themselves. Plus, the news told me that they were wearing wires. ** face palm **

also, we all know that the culver 5 were NOT baiting... BUT...

if all the police feel so strongly about "baiting" and feel its so wrong (regardless if its happening or not) what do they think about their own dressing up like hookers baiting horny old men for prostitution charges?

I love that they can record you for their protection but you can't record them for yours.

84 year old man in intensive care because cops threw him on the ground and broke his neck. He was upset about his car being towed. Good thing reasonable force was used.

What I'd like to know is how these "asshats" pass psychological testing. Only disturbed people act this way!

That was my thought. Maybe also time to send letters to the police chiefs and mayors, etc.

"This is how our police feel about civil rights?"
"They post disparaging remarks about citizens on forums during work hours while 'in their cruiser with their seatbelt on'?"

It would be nice if these cops would actually come out and MEET people who are interested in exercising their rights instead of insulting them on the internet. Now that's some well spent tax money!

    eb31

    I like eb31, who says:

Every time they refuse to show ID...hit them with DC.
Clearly he doesn't understand any of the topics involved.

Of course, he is a truthful one too:

For the record, I've tried to explain to them on their own forum that their actions are nothing more than antagonistic and extremely counterproductive to anything they "think" they are trying to accomplish.
    Notice his extensive posting history:

Yep, another undereducated law enforcement officer. The only positive note is that he doesn't work anywhere in this state. It is unfortunate for TN though.

Now, now, would your 'mofher' approve of you saying that?

I particularly like their new crying and whining about me somehow infringing upon their rights by posting their 'Public Profiles' here. Something tells me the issue of rights is much larger than their not understanding the law, I don't think they understand what 'infringe' or 'rights' mean.

And to give credit where credit is due, MacLean seems to be a good, stand up LEO according to that thread. Lets all hope that a sane, rational LEO like MacLean will open a dialog with his fellow officers who are so eager to break the law and violate people's rights.

Yeah I thought that was some very ironic irony! True enough regarding Mr MacLean, wish there were more like him. Now my mofher is calling me out of the basement for supper.
