Saturday 9/26 I was carrying by Number One Pond in Sanford and had a gentleman walking his dog stop me. He saw that I was carrying and said "Open carry advocate I see." I responded that I was. He said that he owns a local business and because he has been robbed carries concealed six days a week and was as he was walking his dog. He mentioned that the heard about the thing in Portland in April and wanted to carry openly around Sanford but was afraid of the police response. I mentioned my encounter with the Sanford PD and the follow up litter clean up and how with the help of the Maine Open Carry Association he should have nothing to worry about now. He was disappointed that he didn't know about the clean up. He was still hesitant but gave me his contact information to let him know of future events.
