If you look at Snopes, it lists this as "Partially True." If you read on, you find that Rep. Rush introduced this legislation MANY times, and it always gets killed in committee. There is no chance that this will ever get voted on. It is representative Rush's pet project. It has no co-sponsors and every year just sits in committee. It's not worth worrying about.

So few of these chain letters ever seem to have any relationship to reality.

The real threat, in my opinion, is Hillary Clinton and the U.N. SMALL ARMS BAN/TREATY.
This has been something many countries want and many gun haters and backers of one-world socialism have invested a lot of time and money into getting signed as a United Nations Treaty. Treaties, once signed, override the constitutions of the member (signing) nations. We could, in theory, lose our gun rights by agreement with other nations as signed by our Secretary of State (U.N. Representative). Not an immediate threat, but a constant threat. That scares me.

Seriously, people really need to do research before posting chain letters as truth.

It's good to cultivate a skeptical mindset in general and not accept anything just because a source seems trustworthy. Trustworthy sources can still be wrong.
