Apparently a lone gunman opened fire in the library of the Texas University. One dead from a self inflicted gun shot wound. He was reported as carrying an AK 47 but I can't confirm this. Reports claim he opened fire but wasn't able to hit anyone, then turned the weapon on himself. Again these reports are not confirmed.

Look at the lecture scheduled on the UT campus for tonight:

"More Guns, Less Crime" is lecture by Second Amendment scholar Time: 6-7:30 p.m. Description: Prominent Second Amendment scholar and author John Lott will discuss how more legal possession of guns leads to less crime. In his controversial book "More Guns, Less Crime," Lott argues that crime rates drop when states allow citizens to carry concealed weapons.

Think this guy will get interviewed today?

Maybe the wounds were not self inflicted?? hmmm Or he saw them coming and ended his existence?

What I am curious about is if persons who were carrying concealed somehow were involved with this guy not being able to take out anyone else other than himself. This would be BIG NEWS.

Some reports were saying that there was a second gunman... so perhaps they were there and drew their gun?

This story will interesting to follow and I am really curious as to the potential of the second shooter being someone who stopped the violence by shooting the shooter psycho. We need to not let this one slip by us, just like the one University gun man from Nigeria who was taken down by two students armed with a 357 magnum and a 9mm and CNN reported it as students tackling the shooter.

I am sure the truth will come out months from now with NO media coverage.

see below

Gross ran to his car, parked about 100 yards away, without dropping the gunman from his sight, grabbed his bullet-proof vest from his trunk and a gun from under his front seat. While the man pointed his gun at fellow students, Gross and two others ran toward him from different directions. One of the others was Tracy Bridges... who also had his gun, Gross said. When the gunman saw them, Gross said, he put his weapon down and his hands up. The third man, Ted Besen... was not armed and ordered the gunman onto the ground. Instead, the gunman lunged at Besen and punched him in the face.

When Odighizuwa left the building where the shooting took place, he was approached by two students with personal firearms[4] and one unarmed student.[5] There are two versions of the events that transpired at that moment, one by Tracy Bridges and one by Ted Besen.

According to Bridges: at the first sound of gunfire, he and fellow student Mikael Gross, unbeknownst to each other, ran to their vehicles to retrieve their personally-owned firearms[6] placed in their glove compartments. Mikael Gross, a police officer with the Grifton Police Department in his home state of North Carolina, retrieved a 9 mm pistol and body armor.[7] Bridges, a county sheriff's deputy from Asheville, North Carolina[8] retrieved his .357 Magnum pistol from beneath the driver's seat of his Chevrolet Tahoe.[9] Bridges and Gross approached Odighizuwa from different angles, with Bridges yelling at Odighizuwa to drop his gun.[10] Odighizuwa then dropped his firearm and was subdued by several other unarmed students, including Ted Besen and Todd Ross.[11]

According to Besen: Before Odighizuwa saw Bridges and Gross with their weapons, Odighizuwa set down his gun and raised his arms like he was mocking people.[12] Besen, a former marine and police officer in Wilmington, North Carolina, engaged in a physical confrontation with Odighizuwa, and knocked him to the ground. Bridges and Gross then arrived with their guns once Odighizuwa was tackled.[5] Additional witnesses at the scene stated they did not see Bridges or Gross with their guns at the time Besen started subduing Odighizuwa.[13] Once Odighizuwa was securely held down, Gross went back to his vehicle and retrieved handcuffs to detain Odighizuwa until police could arrive.

The college student with a gun stopping crime happens more often that we know. The National media almost never reports this.

College Student Shoots, Kills Home Invader

Posted: 4:53 pm EDT May 4, 2009Updated: 9:09 am EDT May 7, 2009
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- A group of college students said they are lucky to be alive and they’re thanking the quick-thinking of one of their own. Police said a fellow student shot and killed one of two masked me who burst into an apartment.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Tom Jones met with one of the students to talk about the incident.

“Apparently, his intent was to rape and murder us all,” said student Charles Bailey.

TOM JONES: College Student Shoots, Kills Home Invader

Bailey said he thought it was the end of his life and the lives of the 10 people inside his apartment for a birthday party after two masked men with guns burst in through a patio door.

“They just came in and separated the men from the women and said, ‘Give me your wallets and cell phones,’” said George Williams of the College Park Police Department.

Bailey said the gunmen started counting bullets. “The other guy asked how many (bullets) he had. He said he had enough,” said Bailey.

That’s when one student grabbed a gun out of a backpack and shot at the invader who was watching the men. The gunman ran out of the apartment.
