GREENSBORO - Two people face charges of discharging a gun Tuesday night after a standoff, according to police. About 9:30 p.m., officers responded to 3210 Trent St. to investigate a report that more than 15 rounds had been fired, according to Greensboro police.

WINSTON-SALEM - Police released images taken from surveillance concerning the robbery this morning of MedCap Pharmacy.

Officers responded to an alarm at the business at 1345 N. Liberty St. about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, police said in a news release.

They learned someone entered the business armed with black semi-automatic handgun and demanded drugs from store employees.

ASHEBORO — A second man has been charged with murder in the August 2007
Elbert L. Sikes, 75, was reported missing Aug. 16, 2007. The next day police discovered Sikes' body in a wooded area near his home.

Derek Bryan Bumgarner, 39, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
