The police presence at Culver's was in response to two people who called police.

One of those callers, a 58-year-old man, called police on a non-emergency line after the incident to say he was disturbed by the armed men. According to East District Capt. Cam McClay, the man left the restaurant because he was disturbed by the presence of the armed men.

"He understands how things can progress from simple misunderstandings to shots being fired." McClay says in an interview.

The caller who prompted the police response, however, called 911 because she didn't know carrying firearms in public was legal. The 62-year-old woman was told by the dispatcher that police were on the way.

Damage Control?

The caller could have been one of the cops doing damage control.... Do we have this tape and did the caller identify himself or was he anonymous? Was he disturbed before or after the cops arrived? And if he was so damned disturbed, why didn't he call 911? Very curious.
