How you can tell when it's FAKE

From the article (and I saw it on TV, as well):

"The fighting was ferocious," Obama said, recounting the recollection of comrades who survived. "Rob seemed to disappear into clouds of dust and debris, but his team could hear him on the radio, still calling out the enemy's position ... And then, over the radio, they heard his voice. He had been hit."

My father served 30 years in the U.S. Navy. Upon his retirement, we he spoke of his two boys, whom we had to "endure" his comparatively infrequent absences, he choked up. That's family, the ultimate foundation of our country, whether your family was good, mediocre, rotten to the core, or simply absent, if not left in another country.

WE'RE family. We're Americans. We have a Constitution. We know what's right and wrong. We stand for what's right, and we stand against that which is wrong, but we always do so in accordance with the law. We are citizens. If the law is amiss, we write letters, appear in legislature, and do whatever is required in order to ensure our Country as founded by our Founding Fathers, marches on with their goals as enumerated in both their Declaration of Independance as well as our Constitution and its Amendments, marches on.

What does this thread have to do with OC or RKBA?

(8) KEEP IT ON-TOPIC: All gun rights discussions not directly related to open carry should take place in the "General Discussions" forum and topics that are not related to gun rights at all should take place in "The Lounge". Please police your own posts before posting them and help keep OCDO strong and focused.

What was fake?

I think he is insinuating that the moonbat messiah is less than sincere about honoring SSG Miller.

Miller, 24, was a Pashto-speaking Special Forces weapons expert who led a joint U.S.-Afghan patrol — and allied aircraft — in attacking a suspected Taliban compound in northwest Afghanistan's Kunar province, near the Pakistani border.

Someone needs to give MARK S. SMITH, Associated Press Writer a lesson in geography. The Kunar Province is the very eastern edge of AFG. Pakistan is South East of AFG. Is a little journalistic competence too much to ask?

Either he is a better actor than President Clinton was, or he was sincere. Either way, I don't care. The man who earned the Medal of Honor needed to be recognized--and that is where our focus should be: on the hero and not on the politician.

Are you kidding? Clinton could bring tears out at will. His acting was way better.

You're right about were the focus should be.

It really takes a special kind of person to bash the CIC when he's awarding the Medal of Honor to a hero. At least he didn't try to pull a "Tillman".

Keep hatin' and fearin'

Personally, I find the above offensive.

There is no relationship between the remarks of distrust/questioning of the POTUS's intentions and the honor of the Medal recipient or his actions. No one tried to upset the decorum of the ceremony, but do not see the need for restraining conversation after the fact.

Though I distrust the POTUS in all that he does, I reject the labels of "hatin' and fearin'." That distrust and even dislike has been more than adequately earned.

Your reference to Pat Tillman (Silver Star) means what? That you don't think he deserved the award because he was killed by friendly fire or that his superiors tried to bury that fact? What Tillman did that day was above and beyond the call of duty - he was awarded the honor for what he did in the face of the enemy - not assuage someone's guilt.

Hatin' and fearin'?

You mean the agenda of the fascist left throughout 2000-2008?

Use Depends, you'll wake up on a dry matress that way.

I vote for closure. Seconded?

It wasn't enemy fire, or are you not familiar with the coverup. His family certainly didn't appreciate the subterfuge.
My original point was that how can someone hate the CIC so much that even when he is honoring a hero, you bash him for what you imagine his motive are. That's the hatin' part.

Give me a break. The hatred of GWB was so intense that the entire campaign against islamic terror has been denigrated in every possible way, along with every other policy and statement the man made. The "hatin' and fearin'" you're so upset about now is OWNED, lock stock and barrel by the idiots who still believe BHO is anything but a fraud and a socialist hell bent on managing the decline of this nation. So suck it up, and drive on.

The Silver Star was NOT awarded Pat Tillman for how he died, but for what he did in the face of the enemy - I am quite familiar with those details as well as what kind of man he was. You chose to focus on the impropriety of the suppression of the friendly fire incident which had nothing to do with the medal. Of course his family didn't appreciate the subterfuge (no one did), but that is a totally different conversation.

No one else here is using the terminology hate, hatin' or bashing - you are the sole owner of such verbiage on this thread. Just for clarification, since you didn't get it the first time, no one criticized the POTUS "when" (while) he paid homage to a hero.

I do not "imagine" what the presidential motives are. Any opinion that I have as to his character and intent is derived by his past actions, words and deeds collectively. To negatively associate distrust of POTUS intent/purpose with the deeds of Cpl Tillman is a blatant attempt to create dissension and controversy unnecessarily. Keep the two ideas separate - it is the honorable thing to do.

Drive on, there is nothing else to see here.

Thought this would be about airsoft guns or training weapons lol.

Sometimes there is but little difference in the appearance of either. Both resemble the real thing - some more, some less.

Major difference in their effectiveness though.

The easiest way to judge if something is fake is to see if the politician's mouth is open or not. If it's open, what is coming out is fake.

because he was killed by friendly fire

I beleive the point was already made here.

If it's so friendly, why's he dead?

There is no such thing as friendly fire.

Really has nothing to do with it; even if the rounds were merely stopping by for tea and crumpets....
