    2011 Legislatve Session

It's time to start planning for the 2011 legislative session.

With the McDonald case decided by the Supreme Court, it should be NO surprise that the topic of firearms will be on the legislative agenda.

Like in the past two years, I made a Freedom of Information Request recently for ALL proposed firearm related issues being proposed by DPS in the 2011 Legislative Session.

Here is the response I received today.

    Mr. Peruta:

If you didnít get your letter via email, our secretary probably mailed it, in which case it is still in transit. I sent the request up to Steve Spellman, our Legislative Liaison, and he was on his way out of state until 10/18. Before he left, he sent me an email indicating he would handle it first thing upon his return. He also wanted me to ask about the scope. He is assuming it is like previous years, where you wanted only info pertaining to SLFU or firearms related proposals. If the scope of this request is broader (or narrower!), please advise.

Iíll let you know as soon as I have something.

I'm pretty sure that the 2011 Legislatve agenda will be interesting if Martha doesn't win. Especially if we get a one two punch with a Jepsen/Malloy win god forbid..............
