Listening to Rush today.......

I was listening to Rush today and mentally agreeing that the anger with this Administration AND Congress is at a level that I have never seen before. And I remember back to Eisenhower. Yet, I still don't believe the Republican Party "gets it". Oh, you hear Michael Steele say 'we understand, we get it'. But do they really? Not when I hear statements from them about hearings and reaching across the table. STOP, STOP, ALREADY!! No hearings, no reaching across the table. The American people want this Administration's policies stopped, period. We don't want investigations (unless it's to convict and send some Congressmen and women to jail), we don't want to join hands.

We have two weeks till the midterms. When they come we can make this the shot heard round the world, literally. We CAN make this the biggest upset in history. Here in Northern Virginia we CAN oust that miserable excuse for a Congressman Jim Moran. Everyone says he's untouchable. He's not. Spread the word. Talk to everyone you know. He and everyone like him, in the State, are the problem.

We need not only gun owners and RKBA folks, we need everyone to vote. IMO we need to talk to folks about more than RKBA, appeal to everyone on every level so we don't get caught up on one topic. Our objective is to win and win we must by a landslide.

But make no mistake, this is just the beginning. We got into this mess over the period of more than 80 years. It's not going away in one election cycle. We need to be prepared to continue this fight for decades to come, long after I and some of you are gone. Our resolve needs to be passed to the next generation and the one after so our country will endure the way our Founders intended.

amen...

Amen, 100 plus dems need to go this year, more and obama in 2012....and we also need to get rid of every incoming republican that does not live up to his/her promises. Kick republican butt in the primaries and Dem's butts in the general election is the recipe for restoring this country. Failure to hold the republicans accountable will mean failure of the tea party/conservative push to restore this country.

A guy I know at work told me, he will be voting a strait republican ticket, and if you knew this guy you would know what a striking statement that is. "but, it wont make a difference" he figures because the republicans wont be any better and "they never are". I agree they wont be, unless we hold them to the fire.

Small government, defend our rights(including the second amendment) and reduce our taxes or pay the price.

"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance!" So, amen....it is just the beginning! If the republicans fall back to the old ways of being the dems light.....then that is our falure as much as that of the GOP.

I was in an argument a few years back about electing conservative democrats with a co-worker. His point was that they represent conservative principles (not really) and my point was that their election allowed the current power structure with Pelosi/Reid at the reigns of control.

The same may happen if a new bunch of Republicans get elected. The business as usual (now that we have the power) republicans will be in leadership positions and will most likely not adhere to the conservative agenda promoted during the elections.

We have to fight the RINO's just as hard as the Socialists (I mean Democrats)! I would love to see someone like Sharron Angle take a leadership position. To h3ll with seniority! There are good people like Bachman, De Mint, etc that would be fine in a leadership position but we need to weed out the RINO's pronto.

Yes it is a battle that will wage for a generation or two. I am a bit pessimistic but hopefully will be pleasantly surprised after Nov. 2 and the coming years.

It won't matter. Getting your hopes up will just facilitate them being dashed upon the rocks.

One election cycle will not turn the tide. The country is lost. There are few remedies remaining for such desperate times.

The piper's coming and he means to be paid, one way or another.

While I agree with you to a point we still need to fight the good fight.

Our country (world) hangs by a thread and very easily could fall into chaos. Being a bible believer and having no mention of the USA in prophecy I foresee a bad future for the USA. How soon is the only question. Nov. 2 we may beat back the socialist beast a little but it could easily fight back and regain control in the future.

With our currency about to go in the toilet other countries (China) have a large say in whether the USA will survive in tact or not.

For those who wonder about the date of the Rapture, wouldn't Nov 1 be an interesting date? If that happened I think team-Obama would continue to run (ruin) the country down its fall to insolvency.

Trust in God (Jesus), repent and believe. Everything else is just vanity.

As loathe as I am to agree with the above quote, I must, albeit reluctantly. All I can hope for, at my age, is that I do not live to see what will become of this once-wonderful nation of ours.

I wonder also about this mentality.

Why not hope to live to see a truly GREAT nation (or nations, why not?) rise from the smoldering ashes when the land of Lincoln finally fails?

Read it. ALL IS LOST to the post-modern American culture. We get what has been asked for.

No disrespect meant, but it is exactly sentiments like these that will doom us to extinction. As I said in my post, this is not about one election cycle. It will take decades to turn this around and you must plan for that and start now, not give up and say all is lost.

Let wylde give up, sit on the sideline, and believe that we are inevitable failure. That's not my gameplan and never will be. Ill be fighting this fight until the fat lady sings. If its for naught then so be it. I'm not going to look back and regret the fact that I didn't do more.

+1. Remember, the Republican-controlled Congress spent money like drunken sailors, too. The Democrat Congress has just made it worse.

This always makes me think of the Simpsons episode when an old con man has convinced everyone there's buried treasure. They dig a deep hole, discover there's no treasure, and only then realize they're trapped (and the con man has escaped). Homer announces, "Let's dig our way out!" and they all resume digging with renewed fervor. As the credits roll, Chief Wiggum offers, "No, no...dig up, stupid." This, in a nutshell, is Congress--Democrat or Republican--because they're all too cowardly to admit what's necessary, and they know the electorate is too spoiled and self-involved to accept the consequences of doing what's necessary.

Nobody wants to be they guy that turns on the lights and announces the party's over.

"Give up" and "inevitable failure" are two very dissimilar tacks. The country is doomed to inevitable failure, but that doesn't mean I'm giving up. I just don't believe in "Amerikhastan".
I'm not going to look back and regret the fact that I didn't do more.
A life of regrets is not something I plan to live either.

I plan to fight the good fight for truth and justice - the American way just isn't the way that's going to win the day... at least not the America we have today. It does not resemble the America of our founders.

I don't have "decades" to live my life and set the necessary precedent for my children and grandchildren's futures. One election cycle or ten election cycles, it simply doesn't matter when there is a SYSTEMIC failure of the people to demand ownership of their government - the way it was intended by God.

From my perspective it is you guys who are throwing in the towel - you are willing to roll the dice on the same chances we've had for 145 years of tyranny and treason which has brought us to the brink of destruction and foolishly believe that THIS TIME it will be different.

Thanks for that link. This is an excellent article! A bit long but worth reading.

There is revolution in the wind but lets see if the real America can stay awake long enough to get back to the constitution or if we/they will be lulled back into a serf-mentality-coma again.

A few things I would like to see the Tea Party candidates enact:

1) Stop all spending (repeal everything done by Reid/Pelosi/Obama) and start reducing the budget by 10% each year until ALL extra-constitutional activities are terminated.

2) Pass legislation restricting the Judiciary from ruling on any religious freedom issues and state: We are a Christian nation, God is welcome everywhere (since He is there already) :)

3) A panel will review every law, department, agency and if it isn't constitutional it will be repealed/disbanded as soon as possible.

4) Judge Roy Moore will be appointed to review all Federal judges rulings and if they don't meet constitutional requirements the judge will be impeached/abolished.

5) No legislation can be introduced unless it first can point to where in the constitution the federal government has the authority to enact it lies.

6) All foreign aid ends immediately. Private charities can donate to individuals better than government to government transfers.

7) All land/sea within the USA is open for oil exploration. Nuclear/coal power plants will be planned. The US would need to be energy independent asap!

8) Repeal the federal income tax and any treaty that forces free trade. Replace the tax revenue with taxes on ALL imports. Reopen factories and manufacturing to produce locally what is now more expensive to import.

10) illegal immigrants are to leave the country within a month. The border will be guarded by all the returning troops from around the world. You are not a citizen unless you are born here to people that are "legally" resident. 1st offense deportation, 2nd offense imprisonment then deportation, 3rd offense death. Freeze all immigration until unemployment drops below 3%.

11) Europe, Korea, Japan can all pay for their own defense. We will remove all troops within 3 years.

12) Declare that if we are attacked and are forced to war we will use nuclear weapons first. There is no substitute for victory! We may choose a few allys to work with such as England, Australia and Israel in some NATO like support. You mess with them, you mess with their big brother USA.

I could keep going but you get the idea. I am sure I will be disappointed with the new congress. If anyone wants to start electing me king for a year I will take donations. :)

You know that the smaller government is not a mantra of the republican party. The statements in this thread are more libertarian than republican.

Really? What tunes were you listening to?

Witch Hunt?

Malignant Narcissism?

Neil Peart is a genious. Perhaps we can convince him to immigrate here from Canada and run against Eric Cantor in 2012.

When you look at the direction this administration has taken our country in less than two years it would seem, at least to me, that, viewing the totality of their views, this is completely related. If we don't stop this galloping advance of government take over of every phase of our lives there will be no open carry, concealed carry or legal ownership of any kind. Need I point to New York where it takes a MINIMUM of a year to obtain a permit just to purchase a handgun?

These are the goals of progressives. This administration and it's followers have openly admitted to being "progressives". Let's not split hairs here and say that because their "now" stated policy doesn't mention guns they really don't want to restrict ownership. They have always wanted to severly restrict ownership, they just realize that it's not politically in their best interest to bring it up now.

If we sit back and are lulled into a false sense of security here and elsewhere, we are only fooling ourselves. This needs to be discussed on every forum, in every area, in order to keep it in the forefront so folks never forget.
