Great, now practice and get to know your firearm. Break it down, oil it and take it to the range and practice, then repeat. Words of wisdom:

1. All guns are always loaded.
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Practice, Practice, Practice! Practice shooting, practice situational awareness, first and foremost, practice SAFETY. Safety doesn't happen by accident.

And...BTW
Don't listen to the morons that'll try to tell you that because you bought a Taurus, you somehow have a less than adequate tool to defend yourself with. I know a person that went out and spent a thousand dollars on a Kimber, and ended up with a lemon. I've never owned a Taurus; but, I've shot several different Taurus firearms plenty of times...one of their .357 revolvers, a Millenium Pro, and their version of a 1911...never had a problem with any of them. Take care of it...put plenty of rounds down range to break it in...keep it clean and well oiled, and it should serve you well for years to come.

What biker said.
I have a number of Taurus guns including a PT24/7 and my wife's EDC is a PT24/7 PRO.

My EDC is a Taurus ultralight titanium framed 44 mag.
I'll match these guns to anything on the market. Gun snobs are rarely really competent shooters ...so rest assured that you have a fine, working gun.

I've only heard good things about Taurus. So far, this one's pretty accurate.

I have a Taurus PT145 Millenum Pro and don't have any issues with it.

I think Taurus is a decent brand and give the customer some great capability.

If I could find a Sig Sauer with the size, capacity and features that my Taurus has I would buy it but it doesn't exist.

For the PT145, at 10+1, thumb safety, and it fits in my pocket (with a pocket holster) it is the perfect CC/BUG for me.

I did let a friend shoot it and he had several FTF's but I took it fired it with no problems, handed it back to him and he again had FTF. I think he was limp wristing it. I fired it a second time again with no issues.

I've had three Taurus pistols, the 111 milpro, a pt1911, and a 145 milpro. The 111 was a good gun, the pt1911 was ok, and the 145 was the only gun I've ever owned to fail to feed anything, with any ammo or any mag. I'm glad you got the 111:)

Sorry folks, but after owning two Taurus handguns (PT745 and PT709) which I considered to be POS, I would rather buy a 30 year SIG P-6 or a Milsurp Polish P-64 9X18 Makarov or a Russian Baikal 9X18 Makarov before I lay down good money for any Taurus. I would even refuse to accept a free Taurus handgun.

Even the Commie made Makarov's are way more reliable and more accurate than the two Brazilian made pieces of cheap plastic crap I was eventually forced to sell at a loss.

Flame on, if you feel you must justify your purchases.

That's a little harsh, don't you think? I can understand that your experiences have soured you on Taurus, but isn't it possible to imagine that other people have had better experiences?

As for mine, I have been happy with my PT145 MilPro in most ways (the trigger feel is a little rough), it has been every bit as reliable as my Glock or Sigs. The fit and finish is at least of as high a quality as comparable guns. The accuracy and low recoil are amazing for such a compact firearm.

However, I have seen an instance of the exact same model pistol with very poor fit and very rough internal machining. So deficient in manufacturing standards that I find it hard to understand how it could come to be that way. Add to this the fact that Taurus has many many model variations, and a confusing naming scheme. I have no difficulty understanding how this situation could lead to greatly varying experiences among users.

The lesson I have taken from this is that Taurus "quality control" is not so much poor as it is inconsistent -- right down to a specific pistol inconsistent. Believing this, would I buy another Taurus? Sure, if I had the chance to tear-down inspect it first. I got lucky with my particular PT145, but I would not leave it to chance the next time.

Agreed!
I am extremely happy with my Taurus PT111... I keep it cleaned, oiled, and put high quality rounds through it often enough... in return it's extremely accurate and has never (knock on wood) given me any problems whatsoever! To each their own!

his ignorance is his bliss, it keeps him happy only knowing angst

I owned a pt111 and had over 3k rounds through it with ZERO issues.

I sold it for a g30, and now also have a pt145, and that is a little hand cannon, accurate and reliable, +p ammo just makes it even better

Congratulations, it appears you got a good one. Buying into a Taurus is like betting at the Casino. Some time you win, often time you lose.

IMHO, stick with Glock - Germans/Austrians have been making a fine product for nearly 30 years.
