All of the regular monthly business meetings of LOCAL/SouthEast LA Chapter are held in LaPlace due to it being near most of the founders of the group. At this time there are no organized chapers in other areas although we have worded the bylaws to allow for additional chapters in other areas such as a SW LA Chapter, North LA chapter, etc. We meet at the Shoneys since the resturant does not serve alcohol, which would make possession of a gun illegal, and the staff is Oc friendly. The manager has been very supportive and welcoming to us. There have been LEOs in the resturant or in the parking lot when we have been there for our meetings but have had no problems from any of them.
Our meetings are generally open to the public, unless there should be some group business that is deemed private which has so far never happened, and you and anyone else interested in joining or learning more about OC or LOCAL are more than welcome to come sit in on a meeting.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, Dec 1, 2010 and will be our one year anniversary as a group. We usually start showing up between 6pm and 6:30 and the meeting starts a little after 6:30. We work our way through the agenda and usually adjourn about 8pm then we BS for a bit before leaving. Most of the stuff on the agenda are things we have been discussing or working on between meetings and on our web forum at www.laopencarry.org . To learn more about us check out the forum there.
I hope this answers your question and then some.

Thanks, I live about 2 miles from Shoneys, I may stop by. I personally know sheriff Wayne Jones but I have never spoken to him or his deputies about OC. That's why I was interested to know if LaPlace was chosen because of the sheriff's views on OC.
