My sister will be joining the military as an officer after she finishes ROTC at a major university. She's highly motivated, hard working and pretty conservative. But, when I talk to her about arming herself now that she's 21, her simple response was that she just doesn't want to carry/have a gun (while going about her everyday life, not military duty.)
Long story short, this really bugs me. I can't figure out if its silly to let something like this bother me so much, or not. I want her to see the virtue of being an armed citizen the way that I do, but I don't know how I could possibly convince her if she doesn't have the same interest in gun rights, politics, society, etc that I do. Or, if it's worth my time.
I hope this content is appropriate for this section of the forum. She and I are both originally from Wisconsin. I have been carrying since I got a CCW (I live in AZ at the moment) and open carry more and more often every week. This is one of the most active state threads on this forum and I think you guys from WI are the most familiar with the culture my sis and I inherited while growing up. Any advice from similar experiences you guys may have had would be much appreciated. Thanks.
