I was there but didn't stick around long. I got there just before 6 and left 6:20. I stood out like a sore thumb. I was wearing a safety orange hooded sweatshirt. I got a few looks. I wouldn't say they where gutter punks but they appeared to be homeless young men sure where checking me out. I think they may have gone inside the California and alerted security as to my presence. But nothing was done.

But anyways, lets try this again on sat. night at 6 pm again. I'll be there again possibly wearing my orange sweatshirt. It really contrast nice with my 1911.

I was there, a group of Chicago firefighters confronted me thinking that it was illegal to open carry, i told them "this isn't Chicago, I'm well within the bounds of Nevada law." they said, "We'll see about that," and they called 911 right in front of me. The dispatcher told them that it was not illegal and they huffed and puffed away mumbling about how they will never come back to Las Vegas if people are "out of control like this."

I have pictures of my , my sister, and my niece all packing in the open, I just have to get the pictures off my girlfriends phone so I can post them.

Peacefully walking around minding your own business is "out of control" ..... heh. Ask them if they have seen the news back home? I typed "Chicago Police Shooting" in Google News and came up with 414 unique articles in the last month alone.

I just realized why I didn't probably didn't see anyone last night. The usual spot is in front of the GOLDEN GATE not the California. So I'll meet everyone in front of the GOLDEN GATE by the stage at 6.

We did have five people. Had one of four or so security officers asked if we would put our firearms in the car? Hard to hear the conversation over the local music however I believe Don’t tread on me asked if he could have their supervisor come talk to us. The guard calls on the radio. We told him we would be heading up the Fremont Experience and they could catch up with our small group. I was in buying a coke when the security did catch up to us, not sure what was said, the security walked away with smiles on their face, and we continued walking with our firearms. Had Metro on bikes ride right by us, got a good look, and never said a word. On the return walk, Tim says, I know lets go and get our picture taken with the Million dollars. So there we were five of us with our firearms getting our picture while looking over the top of the glass enclosed million dollars making eye contact with three hotel security guards waiting for us to be done so they can politely tell us we needed to leave with the firearms or check them. Decided to get something to eat and walk into another casino decided not to eat there. On our way out walked by a group of black men one of them in a business suit stopped us and asked us with a big smile and lots of humor if we would vote for Obama next time he is up for reelection. He obviously been enjoying the local bar refreshments and never noticed the firearms. As we were walking away, his friends noticed the firearms and one of them came over to the guy and grabbed him by the arm. The guy had all of us laughing. Just as we found a door to go out a hotel uniformed and a plain-clothes security, very firmly said they did not allow firearms and we had to leave. Went to the Golden gate for something to eat we were there for may be an hour with the firearms obvious and in line with the main walkway. Not sure if Golden gate security noticed the firearms, however the workers in the restaurant did and did not care. The server got a nice tip. Had a great time again. Had a chance to get to know fellow OCers.

ROFL, great pics! I might have seen sabotage, but yeah I was in front of the California for a bit, only saw a motorcycle cop sitting at the corner, stopped in front of him waiting for the light, he didn't say anything. I cruised around with my wife for a bit, hit up the Starbucks and pretty much just cruised around. I went in and out of Main Street Station, where I was staying, several times and only noticed a no firearms sign on one door, not even a main one at that. I had a wedding to go to Saturday.

I'll be back out again in January, another wedding, on the 8th.

Again I'm very sorry that I had you waiting a block away. That's nice that you where not hassled even at Main street station. The first time I OC'ed downtown I valeted at MSS. I also didn't notice the sign at the valet to I was picking up my car.

This picture may be historic.

This picture may be historic. Just might be the only picture of armed members of the public and the million dollars.
