CORRECTION!! HB1926 PASSED ON THE LAST DAY OF THE SESSION!

With great sadness, HB 40 failed to enter this Senate this year. Amendments were attached to HB 1926, however the bill was not voted upon before ending the House sessions.

I called representative Perry's office earlier asking if he'll be introducing a bill for the new year. The individual expressed with certainty Perry will be introducing a bill or cosponsoring with the other House bill sponsor.

The person on the other end of the phone explained how we have a Republican governor now and people in the General Assembly are eager to pass the castle doctrine. The sessions for the new year will start in January, so we'll all have to sit back and wait.

Information regarding the bills:
HB 40:

HB 1926:

Stand strong and stay safe,

Sorry to hear this.

What are the Self-Defense Laws of The CommonWealth of Pennsylvania?

You have the Duty to Retreat... If you kill a person in self defense, the family of the would-be criminal could launch a civil suit against you. The introduced castle doctrine would've provided full immunity against civil lawsuit for self defense by any means.

The future castle doctrine will be a defense attorney's wet dream.
