Another misleading news story /video regarding the carry of handguns

They say that carry in WI is prohibited. Why don't these stories admit that open carry is legal in something like 29 States?

I suspect the reason is that many of these "reporter" types are just recently being exposed to the increasing commonality of carrying arms for self-defense. For those who have little to no prior experience, which I imagine is most of them, they are open to misinformation and it can get quickly colored with biases. So we hear them use terms like clip instead of magazine, bullet instead of cartridge, pistol when the gun is a revolver, and "shoot to kill" instead of shooting to stop. There are likely a lot of mistakes in their research (that done for them) and their note taking which they believe is correct. This video had one glaring one about Virginia.

The problem is, a good deal of the population which is not part of the gun culture, and even some that are, take what these reports say as gospel and that is how erroneous information gets spread.

An interesting piece, which raises many questions. Watch where the young lady (now a widow) who is the main subject, puts her purse while out with friends.

But, going to Nightline, then clicking on the Guns and Booze video, will bring up the story.

Poor lady (Nicky Goser). Why is it that politicians pass common-sense laws only after tragedy occurs?

1. Most of the liberal media have absolutely no idea.

2. The open carry count of states is over 40. Someone said 43, it may be 45.

It is currently 43. Four are close to tipping: SC, FL, TX, and OK. That would make the total 47.

The OC tally of 42 states is a little misleading...

Included in that number are CA and MD, both of which TECHNICALLY allow some form of OC by law, but both which severely restrict it in practice, through local prohibitions, egregious permitting requirements, lack of RKBA clauses in their state constitutions, and institutionalized harassment of OCers....

MD only allows OC on private property without a permit. And even WITH a MD permit, you can only OC in a few of the rural counties without getting harassed (or even arrested under local Municipal Codes). EVERY single city in the "Urban Four" counties has specific codes prohibiting "display of a firearm" for Citizens--even if they DO have one of the rarer-than-diamonds MPCH...

Saying that MD "allows" OC is like saying that Nazi Germany had a "Free Press" because there were posters and newspapers everywhere...

That would have a nice ring to it: "All but three of our fifty United States allow Open Carry."
