The Associated Press
Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 | 1:08 p.m.

Police in Las Vegas shot and killed two men in separate cases less than five hours apart.

Officer Marcus Martin says officers fatally wounded a 23-year-old robber who held a knife to a bartender and attacked a patron with a beer bottle during a hold-up about 10:30 a.m. Monday at a bar east of downtown Las Vegas.

Martin says officers shot the other man a little before 6 a.m. after trying to use a Taser stun gun and a bean bag shotgun to subdue him.

Martin says that man attacked officers with a sharpened walking stick outside a convenience store.

The two incidents occurred about four miles apart, but Martin says they aren't connected.

The names of the two men weren't immediately made public.

one more reason

Just another reason we should carry,if someone is crazy enough to attack a cop, they'll do the same to the rest of the public

It says "sharpened", does that mean it was carved into a weapon? Or were they just trying to make the cane sound more deadly than any regular old cane?

i fail to understand how a taser and a bean bag shotgun cannot subdue someone.....maybe he was high on pcp or something, but damn! that must have been one really big stick. :shocker:
