Walter (who I imagine most people here know) wanted me to post this here because he hasn't been on for a while. I'm planning on attending this event, although if it is raining I am unsure what I will do as far as carrying is concerned. If I can work something out I'll carry, otherwise I'll be there as a friendly witness with recording devices.

--------

Feel free to join us in San Francisco on Saturday, November 27th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for a community service open carry litter pick-up. We'll meet up in the area around Pier 43 1/2 near the intersection of Taylor Street and Embarcadero. Rubber gloves and small trash bags will be provided for those who wish to participate in the litter pick-up. Everyone is welcome and we encourage you to bring your friend's and families along with you.

From the meet up location near Taylor Street and Embarcadero we'll proceed towards Pier 39 and continue down to Broadway cleaning up the community along the way and speaking with people about the right to openly bear arms in California. We will also provide informational materials to pass out to individuals that are interested and would like to learn more about the law.

So, come on out and help us spread the word about open carry by informing our neighbor's in the community about the best way to provide for their own personal protection, while cleaning up the environment at the same time. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Please research Gun Free School Zones in the area for yourself just to make sure.

We'll be tweeting live from the Embarcadero during the event.

Decent turnout, probably 15 people overall with around 7 open carriers. My fiancee and I picked up trash from 1:15 to 3, and didn't get a single drop of rain on us. Probably picked up six bags of assorted trash, mostly cigarette butts. There were a ton of people down there, nobody said anything although I did get a few greetings. I didn't get (e) checked although I wasn't with the group most of the time. I have nearly 80 minutes of uneventful video and 110 minutes of uneventful audio.

Overall a great event as far as I'm concerned. Lots of exposure, lots of trash, no muss, no fuss.
