Askd to leave aldi's in Independence

I usually shop with the wife and kids at the Aldi's in blue springs as we go there after church. We did not make it to church today so we went to the Aldi's in Independence instead. Now I have shopped at the store in blue springs almost everyweek for well over a year and never had a problem. Today however the "manager' whi identified himself as "cado" approached me after 2-3 minutes and said "we have a no gun policy and you have to leave before I call the police". I will be getting a number for the DM and sending an email to the corporate offices. First problem Ive had in quite awhile. Just thought I would let everyone know.

Has anyone heard of a policy statement from Aldi's before?

I've OC'd at the one in Warrensburg with no issues. My girlfriend shops there.

Did they have signs posted? Most likely it was some manager making up his own rules. I think that being even more obvious by his threat to call the police. No need for the police unless you are trespassing by staying after he asked you to leave.

I would'nt even call him a manager ( on a weekend ) managers usually have bankers hours, Maybe he's just an employee with a couple of years under his belt.

It sucks, but in reality, it's pretty much irrelevant what "corporate policy" is. In the first place, it's very, very unlikely that corporate won't stand behind the decision of the person who was in charge of that store at the time. Secondly, the person who is in charge of that store at that time has the authority and the right to make up policy right there on the spot, regardless of what corporate policy is. Even if corporate threatened him with termination, he could still demand that a customer carrying a gun had to leave and the police would be obligated to "escort" that person out the door in the event they were summoned. The consequences to the acting manager, after that point, would be between him and corporate.

If this happened to me, I wouldn't be too put off with being asked to leave the store. I wouldn't like it but I can accept that without any problem. What would have offended me greatly is that he inserted the line about calling the police as if assuming that I wouldn't comply or would choose to cause him or his store any problems.

Still, that's his right, but I would have been offended and pissed off about that threat.

Yep, is true sucks and it sounds like there is a corporate policy to follow the law with so many not having problems. I would say it was just the one person and to complain to the company like you are doing.
