I read the Georgia weapons law and I was confused -- one section says handguns may only be transported by someone who is eligible for a license

another section says handguns may be transported by anyone who can POSSESS them

which one is it ??

thanks

If transporting in YOUR vehicle then you may carry anywhere in the vehicle, loaded or not.

If transporting in a vehicle that is not yours then you must be eligible for a Georgia License (which you are not.) In that case it would be best to have it unloaded in container in the trunk or in a locked container in a vehicle with no trunk.

Fetus:

You can Carry a HanGun in Public, less 18 Years Old, IF Georgia Code 16-11-132 is Followed, however; If Older than 18, BUT Less than 21, IF Georgia Code 16-11-126(c) is Followed.

The Difference: 16-11-132 REQUIRES REASONS, however; 16-11-126(c) DOES NOT.

Kingfishs' Advice is Sound!
