Family book on OPEN CARRY now on sale.

Family book on OPEN CARRY now on sale.

    Hey everyone,

Nate Nephew and I wrote a family book on open carry. It's called MY PARENTS OPEN CARRY. It's delightfully Illustrated by Lorna Bergman.

It's for ages 10 years and up. It is published by White Feather Press and to get a discount on pre-orders go to: http://www.myparentsopencarry.com/

If you open carry and have a difficult time explaining why to your kids, other family members and friends this book is for you or them. If you want to learn about the open carry of a handgun this book is for you. If you've wondered if open carry is right for you buy this book.

This book was written in the hope of providing a basic overview of the right to keep and bear arms as well as the growing practice of the open carry of a handgun. Our fear is that our children are being raised with a biased view of our constitution and especially in regards to the 2nd Amendment. Before writing this, we looked for pro-gun childrens books and couldn't find any. Our goal is to provide a wholesome family book that reflects the views of the majority of the American people, i.e., that self-defense is a basic natural right and that firearms provide the most efficient means for that defense. We truly hope you will enjoy this book and read and discuss it with your children over and over again.

    BOOK OVERVIEW:

Come and join 13-year-old Brenna Strong along with her mom, Bea, and her dad, Richard, as they spend a typical Saturday running errands and having fun together. What's not so typical is that Brenna's parents lawfully open carry handguns for self-defense. The Strongs join a growing number of families that are standing up for their 2nd Amendment rights by open carrying and bringing gun ownership out of the closet and into the mainstream. It covers and dispels many of the myths about open carry. This is accomplished by discussions the Strongs have with an anti-gun mom, a concealed carry advocate and curious teenagers.

As you read this book, you will learn about the growing practice of open carry, the 2nd Amendment, and the right and responsibility of self-defense.

I would hope the book had a better editor than the webpage that sells it.

Anytime we have the opportunity to educate the non or anti-gun populous thats a good thing, so why do you criticize, not only is this capitalism at its` best, but it puts` a happy face on the gun discussion, I hope thay do well.

My first impression to this posting is a person trying to profit from free advertizing on a blogging site. Here is why I say that. In the many months and dozens of hours of being on open carry, I cannot remember any postings talking about the subject explaining to their kids and family why one would carry. Of the many issues, I could use the help of a book, like spelling however, I cannot read either, explaining why I carry is not one.

Many people are buying it and donating it to their local school library. Anything that helps promote self-defense, carrying a firearm and gun rights is a good thing.

As for free advertising, we are working on a gif for a banner ad this site, and believe me they are not free.

The books deals with much more than just explaining it to kids, etc... It is a good pro-gun rights book for younger people, but adults will get something out of it as well.

Could you make the contents of the book available? Like some low-res scans of some of the pages? I would not be inclined to by something if I couldn't be sure of the content.

Paying for a banner ad this site, great. Thanks for supporting this site and pro-gun rights. However, the posting is free. Just replying allowed for updated information and additional free advertisement for the book.

What a shameful way to bump your thread. This is not a board for commercial advertising. The forum does have ways to advertise, which benefits OCDO, such as banners, but this benefits only you. I am personally disgusted by your self-promotion and cross-posting, not because I am not a fan of 1A, but because I am a fan of OCDO, and you are circumventing their efforts to run a profitable forum.

    Moderator, please remove this thread.

    Tim,

Thanks for your concern. We are actually talking to the publisher about running a banner ad.

Perhaps, but the book is about OC and may be of interest to viewers. And if you think there is money in OC books you may want to do some research on profits from niche books.

    +1

I was actually considering purchasing a few copies and donating them to libraries. After seeing the spammy way you are pushing this here, I have absolutely no interest in supporting this. One post was enough.
