carring in CT but now reside in VA

Hey guys, need some help with this one, I currently live in Virginia but I was born and raised in CT. I am a licenced Security Officer through (DCJS)and hold a VA concealed weapons licence here. My question is this, how can I aquire a Consealed handgun licence in CT and altimately carry open there as a non resident? New Haven is a dangerous place and all my family still lives there. When I travel from VA to CT to visit I might as well paint a bullseye on me and my family with VA tags on my vehicle. Someone help please.

You can get a CT non-resident permit fairly easily. Dot your Is and cross your Ts, that's for sure, but you can get one. Follow instructions for getting an application on this website.

CT issues non-res permits. I have one. Go to the CT DPS website and you will find what you need.

    Minor point:
CT does not have a "Concealed" handgun license.

It does, however, have a "Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers"
    - How you carry is up to you.

    +1

Glad I didn't have to be the one to say it.

    Yep...from what I hear it's easier for a non-res to get one than a resident... :-)

CT DPS Took 40 days from time i dropped completed app in the mail to receive the permit.

You should know then that in Virginia it is called a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP)

    Requirements for a CT permit:
