I saw this clip and was horrified how this cop took a safely holstered handgun from a law abididng citizen and pointed it into traffic. The whole time talking safety. i called oceanside PD. and they were unaware. i think public pressure would be good in this matter, to let them know that a firearm is always safer to leave holstered. In an age were law abiding citizens are getting their heads bashed in just for photographing police I call this progress.

A perfect scenario? No. But you have to give both parties a little credit.

I thought the cop was pretty cool, acted completely reasonably and went out of his way to be courteous and professional. And good for him with 22 years in the corps. We need a hell of a lot more like him, especially in the slave states like the PDR of Kalifornia. But then, I'm noted as a big cop supporter on this forum.

You people have no idea what freedom is if you think it is reasonable for a cop to disarm a citizen for no reason, who is simply walking down the street armed. And to have to carry unloaded is just so ridiculous.

As a long time resident of the Peoples Republic of Commiefornia, currently living in Vista, formerly in Oceanside and Carlsbad over the past many years, I can tell you that this encounter with the OPD was far better than most of the encounters with OPD. More often, the cop swallows a few capsules of instant a**hole before he even gets out of the car. OPD officers are well known for their aggressive nature. I could tell you stories.

I will be SO glad to move out of this cesspool of Socialism and into Kentucky! I am one of the few conservatives left here in Commiefornia.

You live in the wrong part of the state. Go north of Sacramento. We are known as rednecks up here. I've been here for 24 years and most people I know are strong conservatives. We have tried several times to start a North California but the liberals from the big cities keep outvoting us. If you drive up to Yreka you will see signs stating State of Jefferson. That is the attempt of northern Californians to pull out of this commie-controlled state. You see I am from Texas. I plan on returning in four and a half years, or make my way to Georgia. By then, it may not matter where we live. The liberals will probably have sold us out to the UN.
