There are three days left to comment on ATF’s proposed “temporary and emergency” rule to register certain rifles. We’ve discovered that comments to ATF’s Barbara Terrell, at barbara.terrell@atf.gov will be mirrored to OMB. We’ve also discovered that OMB is very interested in what ATF is doing and how they are doing it. Without putting words in their mouths, skeptical might be an apt term.
So far 33 House members and 2 Senators have sent letters to ATF telling them to back off.

Interestingly enough, our Senators, Webb & Warner, although called repeatedly haven’t gotten the message.
Everyone please call or call again to Warner’s and Webb’s office tomorrow, politely telling them that you oppose FR Doc. 2010–31761, ATF’s proposed rule to register certain rifles, because Congress never authorized ATF to collect this information.

Ask them to write a letter to ATF like Senators Baucus & Tester expressing their disapproval of this action and requesting ATF withdraw the request.

Do not let anyone tell you it is only for the border states and only for a few licensed dealers. That’s a sham. Nowhere in FR Doc. 2010–31761 does it state that.
Senator Webb: (202)-224-4024
Senator Warner: (202) 224-2023

Warner's phone answer person doesn't care. He doesn't even pretend that this matters to them.

What is up with them? Don't they know that he is up for re-election in 2012>

Webb's gal was very supportive. We'll see if he fights this, though he seems very pro 2A.

Where's Warner's call center located, Mumbai?

As for Webb, good for him. There seems to be a real difference between the two.
