First off, the blame for the murders is squarely on the shooter.

That being said, yeah, if someone egged him on I think they should get some punishment.

If the Sherriff knew his record of being violent, using drugs, making threats, & didn't do something toward preventing another occurrence, well, maybe the Sheriff should re-think his policies.

I know, they don't have to protect anyone not in custody. But with the alleged record of threats, isn't there some way he could have been put on a psych hold & evaluate?? Sounds like he might not have passed the test.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in most jurisdictions making death threats allows one to be charged with a felony.

Not without the immediate means to carry it out.

Are you implying that the nutjob didn't have the means to make good on his threats?

Not at the time that he made them.

We'd all be in jail for threats we never made, against people who don't even exist, if Liberals had their way. The law is written well as it is.

I could say it right now; "I'm gonna kill you sucka!" But I don't know where you live or even who you are. It's nothing.

The law on this is almost a carbon copy in every State. "Oh yeah, well that guy threatened me! All my bestest friends are witnesses!" Pandemonium.

I hate all politicians, I have lots of guns... I strongly believe that our nation is lost to them, and a watering of the Tree of Liberty is well overdue. And your point is?

    Whatever.

How do you figure? He had a pattern of threatening people in his community and at his school, not random people on the internet.

Sounds like it would have been actionable to me.
