Besides your unfortunate choice of words, I hope you stick around and learn. Open Carry isn't for intimidation, but for protection. This forum is self policing, so when you say something like you did, you'll get called on it. Don't take it personal. Use it.

Having said that, and being a 1911 carrier myself, here's my advice. Save your money and spend it on range time. A 45 ACP 1911 in condition one is hard to beat for protection. Invest in a good conceal carry firearm. My conceal gun is a Beretta PX4 Storm SC.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Yes, intimidation is NOT what we are out carrying for. We are deterring crime, and protecting our loved ones. Leaves intimidation to the L... nevermind.
